I headed over to CVS to get my FREE school supplies and they were out of everything. No worries though. I asked for a raincheck for everything. I was only able to pick up...

Our first purchase was a $20 bushel of unshelled White Acre (or Lady Cream) field peas. White Acre peas are a tiny, delicate, cream colored, buttery pea. I'd like to share what I have learned from this experience as well as our goals for preserving fresh vegetables.
Measuring un shelled peas: Four pounds of un shelled peas makes about four cups shelled.
Shelling time: Shell and discard any old or immature seed and those with bug spots. An adult should be able to shell four cups in about an hour. To shell peas snap off the top point of the pea. Using your thumbs begin separating the shell at the seam until the peas are exposed. Run your thumb down the inside of the shell from the top to the bottom causing the peas to dislodge.
To preserve field peas: Wash and drain. At this point you can water-blanch for 3 minutes or jump straight to the freezing phase. To water-blanch, cover beans in water, allow to come to a simmer, then begin timing. Cool promptly and thoroughly in ice water. Package and freeze. If you choose to skip the blanch stage, which my Mother In Love said is completely o.k to do, simply transfer peas to a freezer bag or plastic tub. Leave half-inch head space. Squeeze out any air from the bag and freeze. Frozen peas can be stored for up to 12 months.

I am not a huge fan of eating out and prefer to cook at home. This is the case even on vacation. While we vacationed in Kissimmee a few weeks ago, we cooked some of the most delicious meals, one of which I will share with you today.
When we vacation we vacation DEEEEP!...as in (alot of people). We rented a 3 bedroom loft at the Westgate Vacation Villas in Kissimmee for the (9) of us. We traveled down with my in-laws, their daughter and my family of (6). The accommodations were wonderful. If you ever get a chance to stay at the Westgate you'll love it. My favorite location is the Orlando Westgate Lakes resort and Spa on Turkey Lake Rd.
If you are a owner you get to use all of the amenities for FREE such as the paddle boats on Swan Lake, fishing, a state of the art Movie theater or any of the 13 pools to name a few.
What makes ther Orlando/Kissimmee area such a great vacation spot for families is the fact that you can find accommodations that offer all the convinces of home. Our suite had a full kitchen, dining room and breakfast bar. On our second night in Orlando we went to Publix and bought all of our meat, fresh veggies and cold desserts. I like to be as transparent as possible when sharing my cleaning routine with you all. I share the GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY with out shame. I have shared my bathtub in a previous post and explained how I've tried getting these objectionable stains out of my tubs and showers. I've used Bleach, Ajax, Comet, Liquid Comet with Bleach, Fantastick, Lysol Bathroom Cleaner, CLR, toothbrushes, bowl brushes, scrub brushes, S.O.S, plastic scrubby pads and metal scrubby pads and nothing has worked.
I clean my bathtubs and showers twice a week but, as a result of some idiotic grooves implemented in the design of the floors of my tubs, I have never been able rid myself of the stains.......UNTIL NOW!!
My husband often gives me the "wrap it up" signal where he winds his fist in a peddling motion, to alert me that I am getting long winded. However, I am so happy about this epiphany that I must share the long story. While cleaning the shower this morning I looked closely at the grooves to try and discern why my cleaning tools were not penetrating the grooves. What was I doing wrong?
I began using my fingernail which always seemed to dislodge some grime, but I don't find that much joy in homemaking to clean (3) tubs twice a week with my thumb nail. Then suddenly the light bulb came on as it often does, which is what spurred me to try all of those products that I listed above. I called my 7 year old daughter and said "bring me some toothpicks". She come running back with one toothpick.
I begin scrapping the grooves...and nothing. The wooden toothpick was too soft and didn't disturb a single grain of dirt. And then the stadium lights came on. I remembered that I had a metal brush that I bought for cleaning the grill.
I tested out a small spot to be sure that the metal bristles would not take the paint finish off. First, I applied some Soft Scrub and proceeded to scrub in a small circular motion for about 3 seconds and rinsed with water.
The spot was WHITE AS SNOW!!
With out further ado I present to you the GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY.
I had broke out into a sweat scrubbing these tubs and showers. I scrubbed so hard that my bi-cep and wrist hurt when I was done.
